Just one month old, this blog is growing scarily fast.
A month ago, my agency and I attempted to "soft launch" this blog and let it percolate slowly with content. Eventually, we figured, we'd start putting the word out to actually get some readers.
Things didn't work out as planned. Luckily, that's a good thing.
A month in, The Social Path has gotten quite a bit of positive feedback and publicity. Just this weekend, I was surprised and honored to see that Silicon Valley megablogger Louis Gray named me one of his "five cool bloggers for the hot month of August."
This recommendation, coupled with great coverage from several of the marketing industry's top blogs, has helped this site grow a whole lot faster than I ever expected.
Before I dive back into the usual social media fare, I wanted to take a quick moment to thank some other folks who've been fantastic supporters of this blog. The appreciation begins after the jump.
Big thanks to:
• Leigh "Advergirl" Householder, who helped motivate me to tackle this project and then hassled me relentlessly until I launched it. New readers are still finding this blog every day through her endorsement and interview.
• AdFreak's Tim Nudd, who supported this endeavor despite the fact it would probably distract me from posting on Adweek's blog. I've tried to stay loyal to both, and AdFreak still fulfills my need to be snarky and judgmental.
• Adrants' Angela Natividad, who is a kindred spirit in the world of skeptical social media addicts. She's linked multiple times to The Social Path, helping dilute the early-adopter crowd with some folks from my industry.
• The Toad Stool's Alan Wolk, who has commented on well-nigh every post since this blog launched, and also had kind words to say about it on his site.
• Kelby Carr of TypeAMom.net, who has often talked up this blog and helped introduce it to new audiences by featuring it on BlogNosh.com.
• Everybody at Luckie & Co., which has given me a truly scary level of freedom to shape and manage this blog. I still hope to have colleagues posting on the site soon, but we've got quite a few irons in the online fire, so I might have to keep flying solo for a bit.
OK, that's enough self-referential sunshine-blowing. I have tons of other people I could thank, but c'mon, it's only been a month.
By the way, I don't really know where that freaky photo came from at the top of this post. I found it here.

It's only been a month? Wow. You got me hooked pretty quick.
Here's to many more months!

Congrats D. I have been a silent but loyal reader since the launch and enjoy the blog so much it's become part of my iPhone bookmark reads in the AM. Keep on doing what you're doing. It's working.
