How to get paid to blog.

By blogging, powerpoint, wordcampbham on Sep. 27, 2008

I just finished giving a presentation on "Merging your work life and your blog life" at WordCamp Birmingham, a first-ever blogger conference here in Luckie's hometown.

Here's an online version of the PowerPoint, in case you're interested:

Based on the real-time feedback attendees posted on Twitter (and actual face-to-face conversations), people seemed to enjoy it. It's always heartening to see how many Web-savvy folks there are in and around Birmingham, and I hope these tips help them turn all that talent into a little extra pizza money.

Loved the presentation. Good facts and good humor. Well done.

This looks like a great presentation! I think it's a shame you had to detour from such good content to "defend" which tools you use, but I appreciate that you've been a TypePad member. For what it's worth, I think anybody can succeed in blogging on any platform by following these principles, and the more people are out there articulating these kinds of ideas, the better off we are!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Anil. The "Why I Use TypePad" slide was just a quick joke to win over my audience at a WordPress event. It seemed to have the intended effect.
